A men's retreat in the wild of the valley

Adventure, firelight, and real conversation — off the grid, together

A men's retreat in the wild of the valley

Men's Retreat · NSW

Some of the best time away happens where the phone stops working. Oasis of Hope gives your group fourteen private acres in the Upper Orara Valley — a creek to follow, a fire to gather around, and the whole estate to yourselves. It's a place built for stepping back, getting outdoors, and the kind of conversations that need room to breathe.

A proper valley adventure

A proper valley adventure

Follow the creek upstream and it leads to a sandstone waterfall pool — about an hour each way, wading through water and picking over rock. It's not a marked trail; it's the real thing. Once you leave the campground there's no phone reception, which is rather the point.

Fire, sauna, and the long evening

Fire, sauna, and the long evening

Back at camp, the firepit and the Pavilion are where the day winds down. A traditional Finnish sauna and a cold shower reset the body after the creek, and the valley sky takes over once the sun drops.

Bunk down your way

Bunk down your way

Stay in beds across the homestead and Garden Wing, or set up camp by the creek for a more rugged weekend — or do both. Either way the whole estate is yours, and a covered Pavilion gives you a dry, comfortable space for sessions and meals.

Frequently asked questions

What is there to do on a men's weekend here?
The headline is the creek adventure upstream to a waterfall pool — wading, rock-hopping, and a cold swim at the end. Add firepit nights, the sauna, swimming holes, and fourteen acres to explore. You bring the program; the valley supplies the setting.
Can we camp, or are there beds?
Both. There are 21 beds across the homestead and Garden Wing, and creekside camping on the estate for groups who want the full outdoor weekend. Many groups mix the two.
Is there phone reception?
There's reception around the homestead, but once you head up the creek it drops out entirely — which makes it a genuine chance to disconnect for a few hours.
How many can come?
Twenty-one can sleep in beds, with camping to extend the group size. Send us your numbers and we'll confirm what works.
What should we bring for the creek?
Closed-in shoes are essential, and plan to get wet — it's part of the route. The terrain is natural and uneven, and creek conditions change with rainfall, so we'll brief you before you head off.
